One saying that DJ Poulin is a firm believer in is “if you want something done, do it yourself. That is why he decided to run for senior class president.

DJ, from Easthampton, Massachusetts, does not like to sit idle. He likes getting things done and wants them done the right way.

The Willistonian sat down with DJ, during which he explained his hopes for the senior class. He takes his responsibility seriously.

“I’m supposed to make life better for the students not myself,” said DJ.

This means he will work tirelessly to make life better not just for seniors, but for the whole student body.

DJ aspires to work quicker and get more done for his fellow students.

“I will mostly be maintaining and organizing events,” DJ said. “Most of the changes will be how we do that. I hope to make them more efficient.”

DJ offered words of encouragement for all students as the new school year gets underway.

His advice to his peers is to “take it day by day, do not get overwhelmed, you will eventually get used to the schedule and use the resources that are available to you. “

His hard work in the classroom crosses over into all realms of his life; a good friend of DJ’s, senior Graham Allardyce, described him as a man with “purpose, passion and integrity.”

These words from his fellow classmates and DJ himself should help paint a picture of the kind of person that DJ is. He, also had a few words of wisdom at his recent Convocation speech, on Friday, September 14.

He said that if everybody would be kind and have good manners, it would create a much more positive school environment.

Dean of Students, Ms. Kathy Noble, is enthusiastic about DJ’s commitment to his new position.

“He’s off to a great start,” Noble said. “He has great plans, and we’re looking for a fantastic year.”

Nobel noted that DJ came in to school over the summer to meet with her, as well as with Associate Dean of Students Dave Koritkoski and Christa Talbot-Syfu, the 12th grade dean.
