Feud between friends has the internet splitting sides.
Alix Earle and Alex Cooper, two famous lifestyle podcasters and former great friends, are feuding over social media. Cooper is the owner of Unwell, a podcast company and she signed Alix Earle in 2023 to start her podcast “Hot Mess.” Earle’s podcast was dropped from the Unwell network, and rumors have started about the two influencers falling out. In 2026 Earle posted a social media post shading Cooper and her company. Cooper followed up clapping back at Earle and the two have been going at it ever since.
Alex Cooper, 31, started her podcast “Call Her Daddy” under the production company Barstool Sports in 2018. “Call Her Daddy” was known for its discussions on adult life, dating and sometimes sex. In 2021 there was a public dispute between Cooper’s cohost Sofia Franklyn and Barstool causing Cooper to leave and start her own solo company. She signed a $60 million-dollar three-year deal with Spotify to stream “Call Her Daddy.” In 2023, she launched Unwell, her own lifestyle podcast company.
According to NewsNationnow.com, Cooper said Unwell has around 100 employees, but high-level executives have left, including the head of brand marketing, head of network, and chief growth officer. In the last year nearly two dozen employees have left the company.
Alix Earle, 25, who became famous for posting Get Ready With Me videos on TikTok when she attended the University of Miami, launched her podcast “Hot Mess with Alix Earle” in September 2023 which was produced by Alex Cooper’s company Unwell. After rumors about a dispute between the two podcasters, “Hot Mess” was dropped by the Unwell network in February 2025. In March 2025 Earle paused the show “for the foreseeable future.”
Noura Younes, a junior from Newport R.I., believes that Cooper is the problem.
“I have been on Alix’s side the whole time ,” she said. “I am on Alix’s side because I believe that it must be a misunderstanding and because I have heard so many girls come forward about how bad their interactions with Alex cooper have been and how rude she was”
People Magazine mentions that Brianna LaPaglia, another podcaster who works at Barstool Sports and hosts the “BFFs” podcast, claims that Cooper was a part of the reason she fell out with her former best friend and podcast host Grace O’Malley.
Jayme Cerasuolo, a senior from Hampden Mass., loves Alix Earle and thinks Alex Cooper is trying to dim her spotlight.
“I’m a big Alix Earle stan,” she said. “I am one of her biggest fans and she wasn’t going to say anything and then Alex Cooper made this whole big ruckus because she’s losing fame and trying to take Alix’s.”
Noura believes that the collaboration between the two influencers should have never happened.
“I think that Alix did nothing wrong based on the facts and from what I understand, Alex Cooper shouldn’t have taken Alex Earl under the Unwell umbrella because she was already too big”
Earle reposted a TikTok on April 9 from a creator that goes by TheBravoMom that described Cooper as an “ambulance chaser” and said she is “someone who shows up when women are at their most vulnerable, and extracts their trauma for content, and profits from it.”
