Ukrainian Prime Minister announced his resignation

On April 10th, 2016, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced that he would soon resign. Yatsenyuk’s government was accused of inaction and corruption, and the International Monetary Fund threatened to withhold aid money until the government carries out reforms. Shortly after Mr. Yatsenyuk’s announcement, he called for the formation of a new government to prevent “destabilization of the executive branch during a war.” Volodymyr Groysman, the speaker of the Parliament, has been nominated as a candidate to replace Mr. Yatsenyuk.

Investigations on Brussels Attackers lead to concerns of new attacks

New details from investigations into last month’s Brussels attack reveal that the original target of the attacks was Paris. Even in the United States, the Islamic State poses a seemingly lethal hidden threat. According to the head of Jane’s Terrorism and Insurgency Centre, “Other Islamic State cells are highly likely to be in existence across Western Europe, preparing and organizing further operations, and awaiting directions from the group’s central leadership to execute.”

Warriors Tie ’96 Bulls Record for Home Wins

The Golden State Warriors tied the 1996 Chicago Bulls NBA record by winning their 44th straight regular-season home game, 121-106 over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bulls won 44 consecutive home games from March 30, 1995, until April 4, 1996. That streak helped them set the record with 72 wins in 1995-96, a mark the Warriors remain on pace to surpass after beating the Thunder for the third time in as many tries this season. “You can’t even dream that stuff up,” said Golden State coach Steve Kerr, who played on the record-setting Chicago teams. “It’s been that kind of season for us.” The Warriors not only tied the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls 72 wins, they also have a chance to break that record this Wednesday at home in their final game of the season.
