Proctor applications were due on March 4, 2016, and there are a lot of people who are waiting on news of if they will be a proctor in their dorm of choice next year.

Students were chosen Sunday March 10, to be given the chance to have an interview with the deans and dorm heads March 12, 2016.There were many applicants for these positions but only few were selected to go through the interview process this week.

Going into the process, junior proctor in Conant dorm, Will Fokas, comments on his duties and gives advice for students going through the process.

Fokas says “Make sure if you’re going to be a proctor you’ll be able to overcome the hardships of having to be a proctor to one of your friends when they are doing something that is frowned upon by the school.”

Andrew Syfu, Ford dorm head comments on what it is like choosing the proctors for your dorm for the upcoming year.

He notes , “I am looking for exemplary citizens that are unquestionably going to follow the rule and also students who are comfortable with being around a lot of different types of students in the dorm.”

Within the different dorms on campus, what the dorm heads are looking for in their proctors do change as well. This is due to somewhat the personal of the dorm as well as the population of the dorm.

Ford hall is a dorm with the highest boys population on campus, and full of mostly seniors/postgrads, Dorm head Mr. Syfu comments “Ford is a little bit different because it’s harder to tell kids your own age to do things but when I look for proctors for next year I hope to find guys who do well in school and will be good role models in the dorm”.

As decribed by Mr. Syfu , the process starts with the application. On March 4^th all of the applications were due into the Deans Office. Then, following that certain students in the pool of ones who applied were selected for the interview process.

Mr.Syfu says, “ The interview will be the applicant and all of the heads of dorms. They will be asking questons similar to the application. They will try to get a sense of who you are as a person.”

On Tuesday April 12^th, there will be a room full of kids waiting to find out if they are going to be chosen to be proctors in their dorm of choice.
