The class of 2025 awaits their graduation in under a month; past graduating classes have left the rumors of senior spring planted for new classes and they are starting to sprout.
Every year, seniors are excited for “senior spring” and their smooth ride into graduation. Some seniors believe that senior spring is a real thing and like to take their spring slow, others still have a heavy load of work. Both sides; the story start to leak into the underclasses which keeps the myth alive.
Annika Song, a senior, believes that senior spring is a real thing but isn’t exactly how others see it.
“Past seniors have told me that your spring flies by so even if you have a lot of work,” Annika said. “hangout with your friends and spend as much time with people.”
Annika is “trying so hard to not procrastinate but I think I’m not doing too bad compared to some,” she said. “I haven’t missed a homework but it’s still really hard doing a good job.”
Zack Tremblay, a senior, doesn’t believe in senior spring.
“The perfect senior spring to me is being able to hangout with my friends enjoy my last spring time with all of my friends,” Zack said. “I feel that my junior spring was more enjoyable then my senior spring.”
“During junior year I had less work and I was enjoying the spring more,” Zack said. “I was spending more time with the seniors that were leaving and I overall felt more relaxed.”
This doesn’t mean Zack isn’t enjoying his last weeks though.
“I am still enjoying my spring for sure,” he said. “I am still getting outside to see all of my friends and I am getting my work done.”
Fraser Smith, a post-graduate, had double the experience in “senior spring” then most.
“Because of my post graduate year here at Williston, I am having my second senior spring,” Fraser said. “Last years spring wasn’t like this years, I knew that I was going to take a PG year at another school so I had to stay locked in for my school work.”
“My preferable senior spring is being able to relax and enjoy my final weeks with all of my newfound friends around campus,” Fraser said.
Sam Dietrich, a sophomore, is excited for a light senior spring.
“It sounds like senior spring is super light and we get to relax into our graduation,” Sam said. “I’m definitely excited.”
“Being able to spend more time outside with my friends sounds super fun and I think it is a great way to end off your high school career,” he said.
