Tonight at 8 pm EST, the New Orleans Hornets will travel to the TD Garden in Boston to take on the Celtics. The Cs are currently on a 6 game winning streak. This was triggered by the return of shooting guard Avery Bradley who’s been sidelined with a shoulder injury since game 7 of the 2012 quarter finals against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics are 13-6 at home this season, while the Hornets are a mere 6-13 on the road. The heavily favored Celtics should be fresh after coming off a day of rest and a smooth 11 point win against the Charlotte Bobcats on January 14. But much of the attention will be directed towards head coach Doc Rivers as he will be coaching against his son Austin for the first time. After just one year at Duke, Austin has taken his talents to the NBA. In the 2012 draft he was the Hornet’s second first round pick after the first overall pick in the draft, Anthony Davis. The rookie point guard has had a rough last 9 games averaging only 1.1 points per game. Austin told The Times-Picayune of New Orleans “You can’t think about all that, I’m just trying to play hard and see what happens.” But what we really want to see is how he plays tonight when he is guarded by one of the best lock down defenders in the NBA, Avery Bradley. The rest of the Rivers family will be in attendance to cheer for both father and son.
