Welcome Home Ms. Davey

Ms. Davey has returned to Williston after spending a year at the Pomfret School in Connecticut. Students who may have been new last year or this year might not know her that well, so here is your chance to learn a couple things about her and what she intends on doing now that she’s back.

If you are looking for her, you can either find her around the hockey rink or around campus thinking of ways to make our lives as students here better. She also lives on campus inside of an apartment attached to the Health Services building.

Ms. Davey is returning to Williston as the new Assistant Dean of Students, and could not be more excited about it.

“While I always knew this to be the case, Williston’s loving and supportive environment is one you can’t find everywhere you go,” Davey said. “I love coaching such strong and confident athletes, I missed the Easthampton and Northampton areas, and I missed more than anything the support I received from the faculty. I was also offered a job that I couldn’t turn down. I get to work directly with students with the hopes of turning their awesome ideas into a reality! I’m so happy I made the decision I did.”

Davey’s first major project at Williston, “The Willympics,” was a major hit on campus. Senior Caroline Musicant said, “It was the most school spirit I have ever seen in my four years here.”

In terms of other potential projects and expectations for the year, Davey said, “I’m looking forward to getting to know more of the kids through my particular job. I’d also like to bring back CID with a force (if you don’t know what it is, you soon will, she promises), and I am looking forward to generating some fun new traditions that can be passed down from year to year. “

Everyone at Williston has a fear of something. In Ms. Davey’s case, it is the thought of letting the students down. “When it’s my job to make weekends fun and eventful, there are mini fears that events won’t be those things.”

Despite these worries, Davey is still dedicated to making this experience great. “As long as I commit to listening to what the students want,” she said, “I’m confident weekend activities and club events will be as enjoyable as we make them.”

Besides being the Assistant Dean of Students, Davey also serves as the Director of Inclusion and tenth grade dean. She’ll also be coaching varsity hockey with Ms. Talbot and Ms. Tancrell-Fontaine, and varsity softball with Ms. Rodgers and Ms. Marsland.

Gabby Monaco, a current senior who was coached by Davey her sophomore year, is thrilled to have her coach back on campus for her senior year. “The amount of positivity she brings to Williston was missed last year,” Monaco said. “Having her back as the head of activities and assistant coach of the girls varsity hockey team puts her in a significant part of my support group here at Williston, and I am very thankful for that.”

Ms. Davey is looking forward to have a great year with all of the students on campus and is very open to suggestion for potential activities. She is willing and ready to listen to your ideas and receive feedback on the activities she puts forward.

Welcome home Ms. Davey, everyone is excited to have you back!
